It was another great turn-out on Biggee, for week 4 of TNRL. It was great to see everyone out on the trail. It is always heartwarming to see the dads out there with their kids, urging them along, pushing them up the grunt climbs, and giving up their own race to instill the love of riding bikes fast in the dirt!

Butte 100
The infamous Butte 100 sufferfest handed out just a little less suffering this year, thanks to mother nature’s gift of pleasant temps. Records were broken as racers cranked their pedals faster than ever. I don’t mean to diminish the harshness of what is advertised as the toughest mountain bike race in the country though…kudos to all who left it all on the trail yesterday! Thursday Night Race League on Big Mountain – Week 3
It was a blustery night on Big Mountain, July 26, for the 3rd edition of the 2018 Thursday Night Race League. A somewhat smaller crowd of race enthusiasts showed up last night, no doubt partially due to the fact that the Butte 100 sufferfest is happening on Saturday, and many were saving their legs for the effort! Those who raced were happy with the criss-cross course on the lower mountain, and once again, a great time was had by all at the after-race awards & raffle on the deck of the Bierstube, where beers were downed, burgers eaten, and stories shared!

Enduro Pescado
The 2018 version of Enduro Pescado was held at Whitefish Mountain Resort on July 15. This challenging event was well-attended by amateurs and pros alike, all of whom like racing their bikes downhill really really fast! Check out Pink Bike’s report here.

Week One – Thursday Night Race League on Big Mountain
Week one of the ever popular Thursday Night Race League XC races garnered 60 dirt lovin’ racers, and a handful of tiny future world cup munchkins. A great time was had by all, young and old. A huge thank you to Whitefish Mountain Resort for putting on this series for several years now. Many participants are race league veterans from the Flathead Valley, but the races are definitely not just for locals. If you’re visiting the valley, and are here on a Thursday night from now thru August 16th, you should definitely come up and race! The after party and awards take place on the patio of the iconic Bierstube…great beer and burgers!
Spirit Bear Classic
Thanks to all the hardy souls who braved the weather and raced fast for our friend Benny, at the 2nd Annual Spirit Bear Classic XC race! Great course, great food, and lots of muddy happy faces!
The Spirit Bear Classic
We are happy to announce that The Spirit Bear Classic XC MTN Bike Race, happening on Saturday, June 23, at Herron Park, in Kalispell, has just been awarded the Montana XC State Championship! This race will qualify you to race at the USAC XC Nationals in July. Hope to see you there!
